As the world’s leading tailor-made, heavy lifting, and multimodal transport solutions specialist, Mammoet required a new facility for their Canada Eastern division. This facility will include 40,000 sq. ft. of industrial service bays and 20,000 sq. ft. of office space. The building, currently in production, aims to reflect Mammoet as a bold industry leader. The building’s exterior uses strong forms and colour, centred around a large ‘shard’ which projects through a glass facade and wraps around a projecting boardroom. Recognizing the client’s desire to express their company philosophy through architectural design is what makes this building so unique. Formal elements throughout mimic shipping containers, cranes, and the entrance is framed by Mammoet’s iconic logo. Large clerestory windows will bring natural light to the shop floor, while a roof terrace will provide employees with a welcoming space to enjoy the outdoors. The building also incorporates geothermal energy as a sustainable power source.
Through a mixture of brick, coloured aluminum panel, and glass, the mixed-use of this dynamic facility is strategically revealed. Project completed under Certificate of Practice issued to Robertson Simmons architects
